Graphical User Interface - GUI

The intuitive color GUI is icon-based for user friendly operation. Ergonomically designed to swing left or right for operator preference. All machines' setups are managed and stored for toolless operation.
Jogging and Caliper

The bi-directional book block jogger aligns and registers the individual book pages. Simultaneously, the carriage clamp/caliper automatically detects the book block thickness and instantly sets up the binding processes and cover creasing, ensuring the delivery of high-quality finished books.
Milling

Powerful motor-driven milling blade with up to 4 notching knives that prepare the EVA or PUR spine of the book block or signatures for optimum glue penetration and adhesion. Milling speed and depth can be adjusted automatically according to book block thickness from 0 to 3 mm (0 to 0.11").
PUR Gluing

The BB3002 is equipped with the Nordson PUR melter and applicator. This technology allows for both EVA and PUR book production. Easy to use, this system allows for smooth glue applications on the spine and side of the books (i). The melter can keep the PUR glue for multiple days.
Clamping / Nipping

A powerful clamping/nipping module guarantees precise registration of the cover as it is applied to the book block producing flat square spines automatically on variable size and thickness books.
Cover Feeding

Our ergonomically positioned cover feeder is directly in the "line of sight" of the operator and features self-adjusting air and vacuum, load-while-run capability, double and miss detection and a large capacity 80 mm (3.5") with on-board cover askew and registration adjustments.
Cover Creasing / Scoring

Our true knife cover creasing technology guarantees we don’t delaminate or skew the cover. Compared to wheel scoring, knife creasing offers cleaner, superior quality results and avoids the printed surface to be damaged or the cover to be cracked. The BB3002 comes with up to 13 positive and negative creases on the cover, ideal for books with flaps.
Barcode Scanning

Optional barcode scanning can be added of a BB3002 perfect binder, whether it is connected to a BBC compiler or to a BBL loader. This allows the system to read job information for a guaranteed job integrity and sequence. Data extraction is available.

Upgrade Your Binder

The Bourg Book Compiler (BBC) allows the binder to connect to a printer or a feeder. It seamlessly collects sheets and compiles a book block that can be quickly transferred into a perfect binder. This process does not require any operator intervention.

A BPM can be added at any time allowing the preparation of the sheets in a single pass.

Connect with a Booklet Maker, a Binder, or a Stacker

Connect the BPM's output with a BME Booklet Maker, a BB3002 Perfect Binder, or a BPS Stacker.
Format Changing: 2-up or 4-up Imposition

The Bourg Preparation Module (BPM) allows for rapid format changing. No matter the appl application, the BPM allows for a printed SRA3 sheet to become either an A4 or an A5 document with a single pass.
Bleed/trim up to 100 mm (3.94")

Sheets coming from the upstream device are precisely registered allowing for sharp bleed/trim of the edges of the paper, effortlessly removing white edges. The minimum bleed trim is of 4 mm (0.1610") and the maximum is 100 mm (3.94").
Premium Quality Creasing

The BPM is equipped with a rotary knife matrix creaser allowing for the highest quality cross-track creases without stopping the sheet. This technology is superior to a crease wheel as breaks the fibers of the paper in a single stroke, significantly reducing the risk of air bubbles / marking on laminated sheets.
Rotation

Sheets can be rotated clockwise before registration. The vacuum level for registration is automatically adjusted based on the media type, size, and weight and on whether the rotation is enabled or not.
Precise Cut & 2-up Production

The BPM cross-track cuts the sheets perpendicularly to their width into two identical pages. It also creates a gap between these two half sheets to enable sheet processing downstream.
Cross Track Perforation

A cross-track perforation can be added in order to create easy to tear documents. This allows for booklets and books with perforated sheets when combining the BPM with a booklet maker or a perfect binder. Custom perforation may be requested with the desire teeth per inch blades.

BPS

Stacking

The BPS is stacking sheets with or without offset to separate sets. Once the stack reaches the maximal capacity, the automatic delivery process is initiated. The delivery process works in an "unload while run" mode, with stacking continuing while a stack is waiting to be picked up by the operator. As soon as that stack is picked up, the stacking table is automatically going back in the BPS.
Attention Light

When a stack is ready on the BPS, the attention light on top of the unit starts flashing, the front shutter door opens up and the delivery table comes out of BPS then up. The attention light changes to solid on to warn the operator that a stack is ready to be picked up.
Top Tray

The BPS is equipped with a top tray which can be used as a sample tray or to receive diverted sheets thanks to an automatic jam detection process, to minimize job recovery time.

The Bourg Sheet Feeder is equipped with the best paper suction feed system, based on more than 3 decades of R&D. Capable of reliably feeding a wide range of paper types and paper weights.
Drawer and High Pile Loading

You can effortlessly load a ram of paper via the Drawer or insert a cart full of paper up to 500 mm (5.51”) into the High Pile.
Connect the Printer Carts

The High Pile is compatible with most production printers’ stacker cart/trolleys/pallets. This allows for efficient transfer from the printer to the BSF finisher without having to manipulate the paper, eliminating the risk of damage and errors.
Dual Barcode Scanning

The BSF comes with optional barcode scanners in both the Drawer and the High Pile. This allows the system to read job information for an automatic and accurate set-up while guaranteeing job integrity and sequency. Data extraction are easily available.

CMT-330TC

Connect to a Perfect Binder without Compromise

The CMT family can integrate in-line and off-line feeding systems with the BB3002 Bourg Binder. The system is capable of automatically switching, as needed, between feeding books directly from the binder and from the book pile feeder.
Automatic Format Changing

The CMTs do not require any tools or manual adjustment when changing book size or formats. Ideal for books of one production.
